    • MBChB Programmes: 31 July 2025
    • All Other Programmes: 30 September 2025

Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission to UL, you must meet specific entry requirements based on the qualification you have:

  1. National Senior Certificate (NSC) Requirements:
    • A minimum of four 20-credit subjects with an achievement level of 4 (50-59%) for degree programs, or 3 (40-49%) for diploma programs.
    • Life Orientation with at least an achievement level of 3.
    • English as a language of learning with a minimum achievement level of 3.
    • Fulfillment of the required Admission Point Score (APS) for the specific program.
  2. Matriculation Certificate (Pre-2008):
    • Applicants who completed their matriculation before 2008 can apply with their Senior Certificate, provided they have full university exemption and have converted their grades to meet the required APS.
  3. National Certificate (Vocational) NC(V) Level 4:
    • Degree Programs: Three fundamental subjects at 60%, including Life Orientation, and four vocational subjects at 70%.
    • Diploma Programs: Three fundamental subjects at 50%, including Life Orientation, and three compulsory vocational subjects at 60%.

Meeting these minimum requirements, however, does not guarantee admission, as some programs may have additional selection criteria.

    • South African ID or passport (for international students).
    • Parent or guardian’s ID or passport (if under 18).
    • National Senior Certificate or Grade 11 final results (if still in Grade 12).

    • Visit the UL online application portal and create an account using a valid email address.
    • Fill in the required fields, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date.
