Transnet Learnership are part of the government’s National Skills Development Strategy to address the skills shortage, high unemployment and poverty in South Africa.
Transnet consists of five core operating divisions: Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA); Transnet Port Terminals (TPT); Transnet Freight Rail (TFR); Transnet Pipelines (TPL), and Transnet Rail Engineering (TE) and three specialist units: Transnet Property (TP); Transnet Foundation (TF), and Transnet Capital Projects (TCP).
Transnet Learnerships offers annual Chartered Accountants Training (CAT) Programme Learnerships, which is open to those who are doing their BCompt Hons (final year students) and BCompt Hons/final year or one year Certificate in Theory of Accounting (CTA) programme. Current final year CTA students may also apply.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TRANSNET LEARNERSHIP
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must have completed Matric or you must be currently in Matric
- You must be studying or intend on studying towards a qualification in one of the fields listed above, in 2024 (Degree or National Diploma in Specialist Commercial disciplines / BEng or BSc in Engineering disciplines)
- You must be studying or intend on studying at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa
- Specialist Commercial Bursary: you must have achieved a minimum APS score of 5 for Mathematics, Physical Science and English in Matric
- Engineering Bursary: you must have achieved a 5 symbol for Mathematics, Physical Science and English in Matric
