How do I become a PayFast merchant?
First, you’ll need to sign up for a PayFast account (it’s free). Sign up online here. Follow the registration steps and fill in all the required information. You can register as an individual (sole-proprietor), business (Close corporation, Pty (Ltd), Trust) or a cause (a registered charity or NPO).
Before you sign up you should double-check that we can process payments for your business. Read this article called Goods and Services Prohibited for processing through PayFast to make sure your business doesn’t fall into one of these categories. Unfortunately, there are some regulating bodies that prohibit us from processing online payments for specific industries.
During registration, you will need to verify your email address by clicking on a link sent to the email address you provided on registration. PayFast will also use this email to contact you with any information regarding your account so make sure it’s an email address you use regularly.
How do I find my PayFast Merchant ID?
Your Merchant ID and Merchant Key can be found in the left corner of your PayFast dashboard.
Log into your PayFast account on the home page you will immediately see them. Alternatively, you can find them if you go the the Settings tab > Integrations on your dashboard. They are listed under ‘Merchant Identifiers’.
