SSC CGL Maths

SSC CGL stands for STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION Combined graduate level exam. It is a national level exam for recruitment under different Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the government of India.

It offers various reputed and prestigious posts like income tax inspector,Assistant audit officer, etc. This exam is popular among the youth of India who want to serve the country. 

Mathematics or Quantitative aptitude plays a crucial role in every competitive exam in India. Quantitative aptitude is asked to test your natural ability of understanding. Especially, your problem solving skills. Mathematics is a key subject when it comes to ssc cgl.

If you look at the SSC CGL exam,you will notice Maths and English are the foremost subjects. In addition, the tier 2 of ssc cgl is dedicated to mathematics with a weight-age of 200 Marks!

In order to secure a good rank,make sure you have a good command over maths. With this in mind, have a look at the ssc cgl exam pattern.

SSC CGL EXAM Pattern:

The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

  1. The Tier-I: Computer Based Examination
  2. Tier-II: Computer Based Examination
  3. Tier-III: Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
  4. Tier-IV: Computer Proficiency Test/ Data Entry Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification

Tier-I and Tier-II will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. 

  • In Tier-I, there will be negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in Tier 2. In Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension) and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV.
  • Paper-I and Paper-II are compulsory for all the posts in Tier-II.
  • Paper-III of Tier-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics.
  • In Tier-II, Paper-IV will be for only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-IV i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts

The Paper in Tier-III will have to be written either in Hindi or in English.
