Certificate in Academic English and Communication

This programme is structured to accommodate both full-time students and those needing a flexible schedule. It’s offered in two study modes:

  1. Parallel Study Mode: Ideal for students enrolled in other programmes at Welwitchia Health Training Centre (WHTC) or any other institution.
  2. Conventional Study Mode: Suitable for full-time students or members of the public seeking to improve their English proficiency.

Entry Requirements

Parallel Study Mode

  • Admission into any WHTC programme or another institution.
  • Grade 11: Minimum of 30 points with a C symbol in English.
  • Grade 12: Minimum of 25 points (in six subjects) with a symbol below D in English.

Conventional Study Mode

  • Grade 11 (New Curriculum): Minimum of 27 points with an E symbol in English.
  • Grade 12: Minimum of 20 points (in six subjects) with a D in English.
  • Must not be enrolled in any other programme at WHTC or any other institution.

Application Procedure and Guidelines

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Foreign qualifications must be validated by the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA).
  • A non-refundable application fee of N$230 is required. Ensure payment is made to one of the designated bank accounts, and attach the proof of payment to your online application.
  • Applications must be completed online via the Welwitchia University website.
