Centrelink Payments

With Centrelink Payments, there’s a $250 one-off payment for eligible customers to help with the cost of living. The Cost of Living Payment is a one-off payment. It’s not taxable and you don’t need to report it as income for income support purposes. To get it, you must be a Centrelink or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) customer.

How much you can get

We pay JobSeeker Payment every 2 weeks. The amount you get depends on your personal situation.

This includes:

  • if you have a partner
  • if you have children
  • how much income you and your partner have earned in the past 14 days.

We update rates on 20 March and 20 September each year.

JobSeeker Payment may affect the amount of child support you pay or get. You need to tell us if your income changes.

If your circumstances change, you might be able to get an eligible income support payment like JobSeeker Payment from us.

You may have to pay income tax on JobSeeker Payment.
