UMP Online Application

The University of Mpumalanga (UMP), based in Mbombela, South Africa, is a rapidly growing institution offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs across a variety of fields. Its online application process for the 2025 academic year is now open and can be completed easily through the UMP application portal.

Dates for 2026 Applications

  • Opening Date: 1 June 2025
  • Closing Dates:
    • Undergraduate programs: 30 November 2025
    • Postgraduate programs: 30 January 2025(still active for 2025 application)

Steps to Apply Online

  1. Visit the UMP Application Portal
    Go to the UMP website www.ump.ac.za and click on the “Apply Now” button to start your application.
  2. Create an Account
    Register by providing an email address, your name, and a password. An activation link will be sent to your email.
  3. Complete the Application Form
    Log in and fill out the form with your personal details, academic history, and preferred programs. You can apply for up to two programs.
  4. Upload Required Documents
    Ensure you have certified copies of your ID, senior certificate, academic transcripts, and proof of payment for the application fee (R200 for South African applicants). Accepted formats include PDF, JPEG, or PNG.
  5. Pay the Application Fee
    Payments can be made via EFT or bank deposit. International applicants may have a higher fee depending on their country of origin.
  6. Submit Your Application
    Review your details thoroughly before finalizing your submission. The system will generate a student number once the application is successfully submitted.

Admission Requirements

  • For South African Students: A valid ID, a senior certificate, proof of financial clearance, and proof of payment for the initial tuition deposit.
  • For International Students: A valid passport, study permit, SAQA certificate, medical aid letter, and police clearance.

Application Status and Support

After submitting your application, you can check your admission status using your student number and PIN on the UMP student portal. Notifications regarding acceptance will be sent via email or SMS.
