We’ve developed a new app, MyLearning, to help you record and reflect on the learning you do every day. It’s free and you can use it to record your continuous professional learning (CPL).
MyLearning is for any social service worker and is an easy way to record your learning as you go. You might have an interesting conversation with a colleague, attend a webinar, watch a documentary or listen to a podcast. You can record and reflect on your learning from all of these as part of your CPL.
MyLearning allows you to:
- set yourself learning targets and view your progress
- record learning logs
- tag your learning logs so you can easily find them later
- use your learning logs for Open Badges
- share your learning logs with others, such as your manager or a potential employer.
Registered workers don’t need to use MyLearning to record their CPL but it’s available if they want to. If you downloaded your previous PRTL record from MySSSC before 31 October 2020, you can attach this Word document to a new learning log in MyLearning.
New improvements to the SSSC MyLearning app
We are overwhelmed by the positive response for our MyLearning app. Since launching it last November, over 5,000 people have used the app, nearly 40,000 learning logs have been recorded and 800 people have shared their learning journal with someone else.
We’ve made several improvements to the way the app works and fixed some bugs which were affecting some users.
Based on your feedback we have included a continuous professional learning (CPL) hours function. This allows you to see at a glance how many hours of learning you have recorded and your progress towards your target number of hours.
To set this up you’ll need to know:
- how many hours CPL you need to record
- the start and end date of your registration period.
The number of hours of CPL you are required to record depends on what part(s) of the Register you are on. You can check the number of hours on our website.
If you’re not sure of the start and end dates of your registration, you can find them on your Certificate of Registration. Alternatively, sign into your MySSSC account and click on the ‘My Registration with the SSSC’ tile.
Update your app
To make sure you are using the latest version of the app use the link below.
Please note the Android version of the MyLearning smartphone app is available on devices running Android 8.x and above. We cannot guarantee it will work on devices running older versions of Android which are no longer supported by Google.
We have more updates planned and some exciting new features in the pipeline. To keep up to date visit the MyLearning website.
