The Private Security Sector Provident Fund (the “Fund”) is a private fund registered under the Pension Funds Act, 1956, by Sectoral Determination 3: Private Security Sector South Africa, issued in Gazette Notice R196 dated 25th. It is stipulated. 2000, amended by Government Notice R306 of March 30, 2001.
PSSPF came into effect in 2002 and offers many benefits to members and their families. These benefits include retirement, disability, death and burial benefits and are applicable to all Private Security Sector employees, subject to the provisions of sector regulations and the rules of the Fund.
The provisional fund promulgation by the Secretary of Labor should require all workers and employers in the private security sector to pay into the fund. It should also ensure that employers comply with the latter, and enforce enforcement provisions to provide a better life for guards and their families.
Here are some swift and efficient ways to check your PF balance:
- Online method
Users now have the option of checking their EPF balance online by signing on to their account in the EPFO website. Here’s how to do it:
- Check your salary slip and find your PF account number.
- Go to the EPFO website
- Choose the state where your account is registered
- Then select the registered office the account.
- To check the office wherein your account is registered; use this website.
- Go to Our Services >>For employees tab
- Click on Services and then choose Member passbook
- Input details regarding your PF number, account name and Mobile number
- Your PF balance will then be sent to you through an SMS to your registered mobile number.
- Missed Call method
This method works well for users who do not have access to the internet at all times. Such a technique is beneficial in rural areas where internet penetration has not reached to its full extent. This is extremely easy and commonly preferred by many.
- Dial 011-2290-1406.
- Disconnect after a couple of rings.
- Your PF balance will be sent to you via text.
- SMS
This method works only if you have already integrated your UAN number with your KYC details including your Aadhar and PAN details.
- Send an SMS to 7738299899.
- Send the message EPFOHO UAN ENG.
- Set a preferred language of communication.
- To choose English send EPFOHO UAN ENG- wherein ENG stands for English whereas for Marathi type and send EPFOHO UAN MAR
- Other languages options available are Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali.
- After doing so, you will then receive your balance and other details via SMS.
- EPFO app
This method requires the activation of the employees UAN number. This feature will also be available if you download the M-Sewa app of EPFO from Google Play Store.
- Click on Member and then Balance/Passbook
- Enter your UAN and registered mobile number.
- After verification, the system will then cross-check your details with the one supplied earlier. If the details match, the app will lead you to your account but if they don’t the app will display an error and prevent further transactions from taking place.
- The Umang app helps to bring together several government services like Aadhaar, gas booking NPS, and EPF. EPFO services are under Employee Centric Services option on the app.
