When you use MyMSD we’ll cover your data.
You can use MyMSD on your smartphone, tablet or computer. It’s for anyone receiving payments from Work and Income, Senior Services or Youth Service.

How to register for MyMSD
If you’re not registered with MyMSD, we can easily set you up.
Information you need
You’ll need:
- your client number (this is a 9 digit number we issue you the first time you deal with us, eg: 000-000-000)
- the email address or mobile phone number you’ve registered with us.
Don’t have a client number
If you don’t have a client number, or can’t remember it, you can request one by completing an online form. Then we’ll email or text you within 1-2 working days.
If you can’t wait to get a client number, call us. We’ll talk with you about your situation and how we can help.
Don’t have a registered email address or phone number
If you don’t have one of these, call us on 0800 559 009, say “client number” when asked why you’re calling. Then give us your contact phone number and email address.
What you need to do
- Go to my.msd.govt.nz
- Click on ‘Register for MyMSD’.
- Enter your client number and date of birth.
- Agree to the MyMSD terms of use and privacy policy and select ‘Next’.
- Enter the 6 digit code we send to your mobile phone or email address, and select ‘Next’.
You can then choose to log in by either:
Creating a 4 digit PIN
You’ll need to:
- enter a 4 digit PIN of your choice
- re-enter your PIN.
Then you’ll get to the MyMSD home page.
Using your RealMe login
You’ll need to enter your RealMe username and password.
Then you’ll get to the MyMSD home page.
