How many points needed for teaching at UKZN?

Percentages achieved in the National Advanced Qualification Examinations (preliminary and final exams) will be assigned an admission score based on the percentage achieved in each subject. UKZN recognizes academic excellence by awarding his 8 credits in subjects with a grade level of 90-100%.

The Office of the Registrar, University of KwaZulu-Natal, UKZN has released the Admission Points Score for Admissions into various degree programme for the academic year. There are certain criteria to be observed before being admitted to study in any of the courses in University of KwaZulu-Natal, UKZN. One of these which include meeting the required Admission Points Score for each school as well as the courses itself. It is very easy to obtain admission if one has met the required cut off mark for the admission into a particular course. The following is the University of KwaZulu-Natal, UKZN to consider before applying for Admission to any academic programme available at the institution for the Academic Year.

Ways to find out your Admission Point Score (APS) which is the UKZN Points

An Admission Point Score (APS), explained below, has been developed for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) and the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) based on the Achievement Rating of each subject.

Undergraduate Admission Point Score

The percentages achieved in National Senior Certificate examinations (preliminary and final examinations) will be allocated an admissions score using the percentage obtained for each subject. UKZN will recognise academic excellence by awarding eight points to a subject with a performance level of 90-100%. Please see the table below:

If more than seven subjects were taken, the APS is calculated by adding the performance ratings of English (HL or FAL) plus Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy plus the best ratings of four other subjects (excluding LO or Maths Paper 3).
