Revenue Online Service (ROS) can be used by self-employed individuals, businesses, tax practitioners, and other entities. This article will take you through How to create a ROS account.
If you are a PAYE employee only, you should use the myAccount service instead.
How to create a ROS account
There are 3 steps to becoming a ROS customer:
- Step 1: Apply for your ROS Access Number (RAN).
- Step 2: Apply for your Digital Certificate.
- Step 3: Download and Save your Digital Certificate.
You will not be able to access ROS until you complete Step 3 and download your digital certificate.
It is important that you keep your ROS digital certificate safe and secure.
You must save the digital certificate on your computer and keep this file to ensure access to ROS.
ROS Administrator
The person who downloads the first ROS digital certificate for the individual or entity is the ROS Administrator. They will have full access to all ROS functions and records for that ROS account.
Sub-user or Linked Certificate
A Sub-user certificate can be set up by the ROS Administrator in order to make ROS access available:
- on another device
- to other users
- for other ROS related services.
Sub-user certificates may have restricted access to ROS functions.
Please visit Sub-user or linked certificate for further information.
