What Type of questions are asked in the UPSC IAS Interview?
The questions asked in the UPSC IAS interview are based on the candidate’s academic career, optional paper, personal life, service preference, current affairs etc. Candidates are judged on various parameters by the interview panel which consists of senior members or ex-civil servants, subject matter experts etc.
What is the UPSC IAS interview stage?
The UPSC IAS interview also known as the UPSC CSE personality test is the third and the final stage of the UPSC Civil Service Examination selection process. Candidates who qualify in the preliminary followed by the mains stage are eligible to appear in the interview stage. The interview stage is conducted at the UPSC Office in New Delhi.
Applicants who clear all the three stages of the UPSC CSE 2026 exam will be inducted as Group A and B officers in various services like Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Forest Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), etc.
