How to pay Monash fees?

When fees are due, you’ll receive a document advising you of the amount and due date. This will be in the form of one of the following:

  • fees statement (also available in the Web Enrolment System)
  • application form
  • International Student Course Agreement.

Scam warning

To protect yourself from fraudsters and scams, pay using only the methods below and never pay through a third party, even if discounts are offered.

Scammers may contact you on social media, or be recommended by a friend. The scammer makes payments to the University using stolen credit cards and shows you the payment is accepted. Weeks or months later, payments are reversed and your course fees remain unpaid. Victims lose the money they paid to the scammer and still have to pay the University in full.

To ensure you’re protected from scams, stay up to date with the latest warnings on Scamwatch.

If you think the University should know about a scam, email university.security@monash.edu.

Payment methods and transfer times

Monash University does not accept payment using prepaid gift cards and/or prepaid debit/credit cards. If we suspect a prepaid card is used as a form of payment, Monash reserves the right to reverse the transaction back to the same card and you’ll be required to pay using an approved fee payment method.

It’s important to include your Monash student ID number in your payment details. If you leave this out, the payment process will be delayed.

Check we’ve received your payment

To view a list of all payments received:

  1. Allow enough time for your bank to process the payment. See the approximate transfer times in the section above.
  2. Log into the Web Enrolment System (WES).
  3. Under All Statements, go to Payments and Refunds and click View.

We’ll send you an updated fees statement to confirm we’ve received your payment:

  • up to two working days after a credit card payment
  • up to five working days after a bank transfer.

If you don’t receive a new fees statement within the expected transfer time, you can send Monash Connect a copy of your bank receipt. You don’t have to do this if you can see your new statement in WES.

Fees reminders

Our system automatically generates a fees reminder to students before the due date. If you receive a fees reminder and you:

  • recently paid your fees, don’t worry – it can take several days for the payment to reach us. You’ll receive an updated fees statement in WES once we’ve receipted your payment. If you haven’t received an updated fees statement within five working days of the payment, contact Monash Connect
  • haven’t paid your fees, you need to pay them straight away, otherwise we may place a block on your Monash account. For details, see fees non-payment (encumbrance).
