The National Institutional Classification Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched on September 29, 2015 by the Minister of Human Resources Development.
This framework describes the methodology for classifying national institutions. This method is based on the widely understood general recommendations reached by the central committee established by the MHRD to determine the general parameters for the ranking of various universities and institutions. These parameters broadly cover “teaching, learning and resources”, “research and professional practice”, “graduation results”, “reach and inclusion” and “perception”. India’s
ranking based on this 2016 framework was released on April 4, 2016.
For the ranking of India-In 2017, the main ranking parameters remained unchanged. However, some sub-parameters have some major changes. In addition, this year, all major institutions will receive a common general military rank, as well as specific disciplines depending on the situation. The detailed information is in the ranking document
