Road Closures

Steampunk is coming to Thames – road closures will be in place on Saturday 24 April at the following locations:

  • Pollen Street between Willoughby Street and Cochrane Street between 9.30am and 1.00pm 
  • Pahau Street between Pollen Street and Mackay Street between 9:30am and 3:00pm
  • Cochrane Street between Kirkwood Street and Mackay Street between 9:30am and 1:00pm

During the period of the road closure, alternative routes will be Campbell Street, Bella Street, SH25, Pollen St and Mackay Street. 

mitoQ K2 Postponed until 10th April

The mitoQ K2 will set off from Tairua on April 10, 6am onward. –  200k event . starting and finishing in Tairua, with the K1 (106K) starting in Coromandel Town and the Nicholas Brown challenge (53K) setting off from Thames.Two shorter distance rides take place on the same day: the K1 (106K) for aged 14 and upwards and the Nicholas Browne (53K) for ages 12 upwards.  The event is held on SH25 and drivers are asked to please drive with care.
