Admission to GITAM is through the university entrance exam GAT (GITAM Admission Test), a computer based online test which is held across major cities in India. Based on ranks achieved, admissions are given in Visakhapatnam campus, Bangalore campus and Hyderabad campus.

How to apply
A student applying under Foreign/NRI category for the undergraduate courses can apply either Online or Offline.

GITAM B.Tech, B.Pharm and B.Arch Admission 2026
GITAM offers B.Tech, B.Arch & B.Pharm courses in the field of Engineering and Technology, Architecture & Pharmacy. Candidates need to pass 10+2 examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (50% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry/Biology from a recognized Central / State Board or its equivalent.
Admission to the B.Tech, B.Pharm courses are done on the basis of marks obtained in GAT(UGTP). Candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. program should qualify in NATA / or JEE (Main).

Selection Process: GITAM conducts GAT (UGTP) to provide admission in B.Tech, B.Pharm & B.Arch programmes offered by Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad & Bengaluru campuses. The ranks secured by the candidates will be announced within 10 days after the completion of the GAT. 25% seats in GAT will be reserved for brilliant students of Karnataka state for admission at Bengaluru campus.
Exemption from GAT: Direct admission will be offered to all central & state board toppers. Such candidates can take admission to any programmes of their choice without taking GAT. In case of Engineering & Pharmacy courses, candidates have to apply on priority basis in the University.
Pattern of GAT (UGTP): This test is of 2-hour duration with three sections with MCQs. Two marks will be allotted for each correct answer & one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. GAT (UGTP) will be conducted in online mode only.

GITAM MBBS, B.Sc Nursing, BCA & B.Com Admission 2026
GITAM offers various undergraduate programs in the streams of Science, Business Administration, Computer Application, Medical Sciences, Nursing and Legal Studies. The duration of all the UG courses is of three years except for the MBBS and B.Sc Nursing programs which are of five years and four years respectively.
For BBA programs, candidates have to qualify for UGAT or GAT examination. Candidates seeking admission to the BCA, B.Sc. BEM programs are required to appear for GAT. Admission into the LL.B. program is based on merit in the Entrance test For admission to the MBBS course, aspiring candidates need to sit for NEET examination conducted by CBSE.

Selection Process for BBA, B.Com & BA: These courses are offered under GITAM Institute of Management (GIM). Admission to all these courses are offered on the basis of student’s performance in Selection Process for BEM, B.Sc & BCA Programmes: GITAM conducts GAT to offer admission in BEM, B.Sc & BCA courses. Final admission is offered on the basis of rank in the GAT. GAT consists following sections as given below:

GITAM Integrated Program Admission 2026
The university offers a number of Integrated courses in the fields of Science, Engineering & Technology and Legal Studies. All the Integrated courses are of five years except for the B.Tech-M.Tech programme for which the duration is six years.
- Admission to the Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech programme is given to the candidates on the basis of rank obtained in GAT (UGTP)
- Admission to the Integrated B.Sc-M.Sc programme is done on the basis of merit in GAT
- Admission into the B.A. LL.B/B.B.A. LL.B. (hons.) programs is based on merit in the Entrance test
