JBIMS has a total intake of 120 seats in the flagship MMS programme. Out of this intake, 15% seats are allotted to All India category candidates. Accordingly, there are 18 seats for the All India category candidates for admission to MMS at JBIMS.
JBIMS Mumbai MMS Admission 2026 opens in the month of July with the beginning of Centralized Admission Process (CAP) by DTE Maharashtra. Due to Covid pandemic situation it is expected that the complete JBIMS admission process will be conducted online and no requirement for in person presence for the candidate will be there. JBIMS continues with its Autonomous Status and will offer 85% seats to Maharashtra State Candidates and 15% seats to All India category candidates out of the total 120 seats.
MMS is the flagship two years full time management programme of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS). The programme is conducted as a university department of University of Mumbai. On completion of the programme the student is awarded MMS degree by Mumbai University.
For finalizing its admission 2026, JBIMS Mumbai will participate in DTE CAP 2026 to be conducted by CET CELL in the month of July 2026. JBIMS MMS Fee: Rs.6 lakhs
JBIMS has moderate fee structure at Rs.6 lakhs for two years. JBIMS has recently increased its fee for MMS course, after being awarded the autonomous status. The JBIMS fee had gone up to Rs.6 lakhs from Rs.2.04 lakhs earlier. It appears that the JBIMS fee despite being regulated by the ‘ShikshanShulkaSamiti (SSS)’ of Government of Maharashtra has got a special status to determine its own fee. However, there is a slight different in fee for Maharashtra State category and All India category candidates:

JBIMS: Autonomous B-School
It may be noted that JBIMS Mumbai is a close entity and is a constituent of Mumbai University. It has enjoyed the Autonomous status from 2014 till date. The status was abruptly changed by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra in 2026, putting thousands of MBA aspirants in dilemma. However, after getting its autonomous status restored by the Supreme Court of India on September 2, 2026, the JBIMS Admission offers are now made by DTE Maharashtra accordingly.
JBIMS Admission cut offs 2026: Check Below
Based on the highest score in MAH MBA CET 2026 JBIMS cut off may go down or go up. Last year MAH CET highest score had gone down to 159 for 99.99 percentile as against 175 in 2026. MAHCET exam result reveals that a score of 146 fetched 99.99 percentile. A candidate with an overall score of 135-138 for Maharashtra State category got admission in JBIMS Mumbai.
For All India category candidate, the cut off is higher at 138-140. As announced, no separate or individual admission process is conducted by JBIMS Mumbai and the seat allotment will be made by DTE Maharashtra through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2026

The cut off percentile range for Maharashtra State Home University (MS-HU) category is expected to remain around 98 percentile, while for All India (AI) category candidate it would be around 99.5 percentile in MAHCET 2026 exam.
JBIMS 2026 Admission through DTE CAP
JBIMS admission process is through DTE CAP round. On the basis of Percentile of Normalized score of entrance exams, seat allocation will be done by DTE on merit in CAP rounds.
JBIMS Admission Criteria
Apart from score in the written exam, evaluation criteria will take into account complete personality of the candidate, which includes various parameters like extra-curriculars, other significant achievements. Work experience is also a component of the admission criteria and will be given due weightage.
However, if a fresher has other substantial credentials, he/she can cover up in other parameters. Work-ex alone would not be the deciding criteria.
Exam Score Accepted for admission
Different exam scores are accepted for Maharashtra State (MS) category and All India (AI) category candidates as per the DTE guidelines.
- MS Category: Score of MAHCET 2026 are accepted for Maharashtra State candidates.
- AI Category: Score of MAHCET 2026, CAT 2026 and CMAT 2026 exams are considered in admission process for MMS 2026-23 batch for All India category candidates.
Final Admission Result
There will be four-five CAP rounds which will be conducted by DTE Maharashtra from July to August 2026. Merit list will be released for admission after each round and the selected candidates should immediately report for admission at the college and pay the fee. If you are allotted seat in JBIMS, you should report at the institute within a week’s time to secure your seat else it will be allotted to some other candidate.
JBIMS Application process
No separate application needs to be submitted for JBIMS admission 2026. Candidates who have appeared in CAT 2026 and have got high score but could not be shortlisted by IIMs due to one or other factor, still have the opportunity to explore admission in JBIMS Mumbai, if they timely apply and register for CAP round 2026. If you have appeared in MAHCET 2026, CAT 2026 or CMAT 2026, you can seek admission in JBIMS.
Since DTE Maharashtra conducts Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for admission to all the participating MBA colleges including JBIMS Mumbai and makes seat allotment in the MBA colleges as per the merit score obtained by the candidates, you should watch for the opening of DTE CAP registration opening date.
JBIMS Admission 2026: Application Process is through DTE CAP 2026
The admission to the JBIMS MMS programme 2026 is through DTE CAP 2026. If you have not appeared in MAH CET 2026, there is nothing to worry, you could still apply for admission to JBIMS Mumbai through DTE CAP. Your CAT 2026 and CMAT 2026 score will be considered for admission to JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA and other MBA/MMS colleges in Maharashtra.
The registration and application process for Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for admission 2026 to JBIMS and other MBA colleges in Maharashtra is expected to open in July 2026. The candidates who score high and wish to be considered for JBIMS admission process to its flagship MMS programme can apply then.
Please note DTE Maharashtra allows very limited time to submit the application for participation in CAP. So, you have to apply immediately when the Notification for CAP is released by DTE Maharashtra.
