How to apply
Application tips
- Be prepared. Make sure you’ve done your research and can tell us why you’re interested in a career at CommBank.
- Show us your passion. At each stage of the process, be prepared to talk about your skills and experience – whether from university, work, or in the community!
- Be you. We want to know all about your motivation so we can identify the best role for you.
Application process
Step 1: Submit your application online
By this stage, you’ve probably read our website, attended some career fairs, spoke to our people, and liked the idea of working with us!
You can only apply for one business area, so choose wisely. Visit our website to read up on the different streams on offer, as you’ll need to make a selection in your online application, and make sure you apply within the advertised timeframes! You wouldn’t want to miss out.
Step 2: Complete online assessments
We’ve read your application and we think you’re a great fit! In this stage, you’ll be asked to complete a set of online assessments to make sure we’re a perfect match. We’ll send you emails detailing what you need to do to complete the online assessments.
Be sure to look out for those deadlines to complete these assessments, as in some cases this may only be 24 hours. The earlier you submit your application, the longer you’ll have to complete your assessments. If you don’t complete your assessments in the timeframes specified, we won’t be able to consider your application further.
Step 3: Digital interview
If you’re successful in the online assessment, we’ll invite you for a digital interview. This is an opportunity for you to highlight both your skills and your desire to work for us. This will take roughly about 30 minutes to complete.
If you’re applying for the Global Markets Summer Analyst Program, you won’t need to complete a digital interview.
Step 4: Attend our Virtual Assessment Centre
In response to COVID-19, and to ensure the safety of candidates and our employees, we will be conducting a Virtual Assessment Centre. Here you’ll learn more about your program/s as well as participate in online activities to showcase your skills and motivation. This is a great time to ask any questions you may have about the Program. We want you to learn more about us, just as much as we want to learn more about you.
This stage is a mandatory component of our application process, so please make every effort to participate. Certain activities of our Virtual Assessment Centre won’t be conducted on a rolling basis, so you might not have any other opportunities later on!
Step 5: Your offer
Should you be successful, we’ll call you within 48 hours with the exciting news and give you all the information you need to make a decision that’s right for you.
How does our Graduate Program work?
You’ll start with us in mid-February as a permanent employee, but the length of your program varies based on which Business Area you choose.

You’ll complete a rotational program to help you to learn about different parts of your business area. At the end of your program, you’ll be supported to find a role that best suits your capabilities and interests.
