About the online chat service

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is Beta testing an online chat service where taxpayers can ask general, non-account specific questions to a live CRA agent. During the testing period, the online chat service will be available for limited topics and have limited hours of service. The CRA will monitor feedback about the online chat service in order to expand it in the future.

As we are Beta testing our online chat tool, it may not be fully compatible with all systems at this time. If you are unable to use it, you may continue to use CRA’s online services (My Account) or to call our contact centres. We appreciate your patience and are working to ensure the online chat tool is fully compatible with all users in future versions.

Note

We would like to remind you not to share any personal information, such as your social insurance number, address, or date of birth in the online chat.
