How To Apply For R350 Grant Via SASSA Website
Applications for the temporary R350 grant can be submitted on SASSA’s Social Relief of Distress (SRD) website. Here’s how you can go about submitting your application using the SRD website.
- Open your internet browser
- Search for https://srd.sassa.gov.za/
- You will then have to submit your ID number and mobile number
- Once you have done that, click the ‘send sms’ button
- Insert the One Time Pin (OTP) number and click ‘verify pin’
- Continue to step 2: Agree To Terms and Conditions
You will need to supply SASSA with the following information in order for your application to be considered.
- Identity Number or Department of Home Affairs Refugee permit number
- Name and Surname as captured in the Identity Document
- Gender and Disability
- Contact details – Cell phone number
- Residential Address

Please note that all information will be provided electronically and there is no need to upload any documentation. Please ensure that you provide SASSA with a Mobile Number (cell phone number) where we can reach you to provide you with feedback on the status of your application.
You can also obtain the status of your application on this website. Should your application be declined, you will have the right to appeal the SASSA decision by lodging an appeal with the Department of Social Development for each month your application was declined.
The process to lodge an appeal will be provided with the notification that your application has been declined. Failure to request appeal for each month that the application is declined will result in the original decision sustained.
